Skate Saint Paul

Lace up your skates at any of these three neighborhood outdoor rinks.

1. Palace Recreation Center

Under baseball-style lights, the rink, around 90 feet long and 45 feet wide, hosts ice hockey games and family skate times that alternate mornings and evenings. Take a break in the warming room or head to the nearby Tav on the Ave for drinks and food.

2. Hayden Heights Recreation Center

Borrow a free pair of skates and hit the ice at this 150-by-80-foot rink; a warming room is also available. Since the rink is flooded every year, its opening depends on weather.

3. Edgcumbe Recreation Center

Check out the beginners’ skating program at the 200-by-85-foot general skating rink and keep an eye out for hockey events taking place on the center’s separate rink.
