A Note from Editor Julie Pfitzinger on the Last Issue of Saint Paul Magazine

Reflecting on two years telling the stories of Saint Paul.

This edition of Saint Paul Magazine is a bittersweet one, as it is the last issue that we will publish. Since we launched in March 2015, it has been a challenge to find the advertising support needed to produce the magazine and mail it, without charge, to Saint Paul homes. Speaking as a lifelong resident of Saint Paul, it has been such a pleasure to tell the stories of so many individuals, organizations, restaurants and more on these pages. I’m disappointed that it’s over because if you know Saint Paul, you know there are many, many more stories to tell. Personally, I had the opportunity to interview some of the city’s most fascinating people including Mayor Chris Coleman, former mayor George Latimer, Ordway president Jamie Grant,  MPR’s Kerri Miller, Chan Poling from The Suburbs, singer and activist Maria Isa Perez and Danny Klecko, writer and CEO of St. Agnes Baking Co., just to name a few.  Thank you all for letting me share your stories with our readers.
I’d also like to thank the three art directors who, since the magazine launched, brought the pages to life with their beautiful designs: Rae Danneman, Lauren Greenberg and Sarah Dovolos. And to our writers, including Renée Stewart-Hester, Dana Bedingfield, Maggie Kelly, Diana Stein, Erik Tormoen and others, thank you for your wonderful work.

I would like to thank our readers for the nice feedback that we received.  I am grateful to have had the opportunity to serve as the editor of Saint Paul Magazine. It has been an unforgettable experience in many ways.
